OK, I had said that I was going to be better about blogging but that obviously has not been the case.  I am going to play catch up on the last few months. February- We left CA on the 17th and drove across the country to the East coast.  We made it to Fort Stewart, GA on the morning of the 19th and stayed with some friends for the night.  The next day we visited my cousin Danielle and her husband in Savannah.  We left there around 4:00 and made it to our house on Fort Bragg by 7:00.  Alyssa was enrolled in school the next day and the unpacking and settling began.  Also, we bought a Nissan Pathfinder which I love. March-Went on a marriage retreat with Dave's company to Blowing Rock, NC.  It was fun and beautiful up there.  We went to classes and they provided child care for the kids for the classes and for a "date night."  At this point we have made a few friends and our weekends consist of hanging out with them.  April-  Beginning of April was Easter and so we took a trip up North to visit Dave's family in Philadelphia and then over to my Grandma Bea's house for Easter.  It was so nice to meet his family finally and then to spend a holiday with our PA family.  I love being closer to them.  At the end of April we had our first visitor, my dad.  We had such an amazing few days with him and it was very sad to see him go. May- Dave was officially promoted to E5 on May 2 and I am so proud of him.  We spent the first weekend of May in Myrtle Beach.  It was such a nice weekend.  The kids LOVED the beach so much and our hotel room was amazing.  An ocean view balcony, 2 bedrooms, and 2 full bathrooms.  This month has also been eventful for us because we just found out that our next duty station is going to be Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.  We will not be reporting there until December of this year but we are very very excited for the experience and a change in culture.  Since this weekend is Memorial Day we will be celebrating here at home.  The Army has a 4 day weekend and all of the pools here on base will be opening.  Here are a few pictures of the last few months.  The next few months will be even busier and I am very excited about that.  I will try very hard to stay more updated.

Nathan is turning 2

Our moving date is coming very soon (2 days to be exact.)  We will end up in Fort Bragg the day before Nathan's birthday so we decided to celebrate here with family before we left.  It is always nice to get together and my sister was nice enough to host it at her house.  We have been trying to get as much time in as we can with family and friends before we leave.  Here are some pictures of Nathan's birthday and some the last week.

Waiting to be sang to, he even sang along with Happy Birthday.

Here is a little family picture we took at the Boatman's house.

Here is my kids and I with my grandparents, I love them so much and am really going to miss them.
If Nathan had his way, he would sleep with his sister every night.  He crawls out of his bed and into hers.  This happens about 3x a week.  He loves her so much.

I love this picture of Alyssa, she is getting so big and she is so beautiful.

Finishing out 2011, Hello 2012.

As most of you know Dave was Iraq for most of this last year and so the kids and I moved back to my parents place while he was gone. Long story short, he is back now and we will all be together again soon. He is back at Fort Bragg NC and we will be moving back there with him at the end of February. I am sad to move away from my job and both our families but nothing will feel as good as having my little family living all under one roof. I will keep everyone updated as things unfold.

Christmas 2009

This year we had our first Christmas as a family and it was awesome. We started some of our own traditions and had a wonderful time. Dave did not have to work very much and Lys was off of school so the last 2 weeks of the year were very relaxing and fun for all of us. Here are some pics from Christmas and the last 2 weeks of the year.

Dave got me speakers for my car.
This girl is spoiled, look at all her loot.
Lys and her stocking
Santa lined our stairs with bubble wrap because Lys loves popping it so much.
What kid would not love to come down and see this on Christmas morning?

We made the world's worst gingerbread house, but it was fun doing it.

Fall of 09

It has been a long while since I have updated the blog so here is a very quick overview of the last few months. We are in our new house which has been such a blessing! Alyssa loves her school and I am there often helping out. We feel very at home here. This Thanksgiving we were blessed to have my sister and her family come spend a week with us. It was so nice, we loved having them here. It was the highlight of my year for sure. Alyssa started girl scouts last month so that has been fun for her, she goes once a week and some other activities. Last week we went to the North Carolina Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker and then out to dinner, it was fun. Lately we have just been getting ready for Christmas. This will be our first Christmas away from home so we are going to embrace it. It will also be our first Christmas together as a family. Also, we do not have much longer until we have our newest member of our family Nathan Stefan White. Can't wait to meet him!!! We will keep everybody posted on all new updates. We love you all and hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.
